Hello! My name is Andrew; I moved to the Côte d'Azur back in 1995 and I am still amazed by its beauty - which is why I do not intend to leave!
I have created this web site as a celebration of this region I call home.
You will find lots of practical information regarding holidays, cultural and musical events, but also about living, working and not working (retiring) on the Cote d'Azur.
Mostly however, this is my personal account of life on the French Riviera. There's many much more specialised websites that can give you all the detailed information you could possibly want - I am not competing with them! (I will provide links where relevant)
You will also find lots of pictures (all my own pictures, except where mentioned otherwise), showing off the beauty of this region.
Maybe you are coming for one of the famous jazz festivals, or you want to plan a holiday; or maybe you are looking for a better quality of life and want to move to the Cote d'Azur? Did you know that the French Riviera has a very large expatriate community?
Whatever you are looking for, you will find valuable tips and advice on this site.
You will discover scenic walks, perfect holiday spots, the best beaches and quality affordable restaurants.
As it has done for centuries, the beauty of this region will never cease to amaze and impress. The beauty of its landscapes, from the rugged mountain peaks in the Mercantour National Park down to the Coast of the Mediterranean Sea; the beauty of its sleepy medieval villages and its many arts museums. All of this basking in sunshine for over 300 days every year.
It is true, in summer it can be very busy close to the sea; but even then there are beaches to be found with fewer tourists; and of course, there is much much more to the Côte d Azur than just beaches!
References to other sites, providing loads of practical and official information about life on the Côte d'Azur, are also given.
As some of you may have noticed, I like to improve this site, not only by adding more content, but from time to time I also update and modernise the design and look of the site.
I do also intend to make this site available in French; for now however, the French pages are somewhat limited in number and content - Soyez patient encore un tout petit peu, s'il vous plaît!
I hope you enjoy these pages; in any case please do not hesitate to leave me any comments, questions or suggestions you may have.
I have endeavoured to index all pages : please see this link.
Note 1: All photo's shown on this site are my own, unless indicated otherwise.
Should you be interested in buying the original pictures, just drop me a note.
Note 2: This site is growing and more content is being added all the time!
On a final note: I created this website myself, so any comments or suggestions about the design are most welcome!
