Beyond the French Riviera

The French Riviera lies at the heart of a much larger area, rich in history, culture and natural beauty: Corsica, the Provence, the Alps... . And there is of course neighbouring Italy, only 30 minutes drive away, from Nice.

Corsica

Take the ferry to Corsica, a stunning island, with scenery and beaches among the best our planet has to offer. As if to prove the point, dolphins may accompany your boat!

Provence

Dreamy villages, rolling hills, fresh produce, great wines, castles, towering pine trees, les cigales, .. to name but a few, are all famous features of this region.
Made (even more) famous by Peter 's best-selling "A Year in the Provence", the Provence is a region with an almost mystical appeal.

Southern French Alps

The department called "Alpes de Haute Provence" lies to the northwest of the Alpes Maritimes department (of which the Cote d'Azur is the southern part).
This is where the real mountain landscapes begin. Several peaks easily exceed 3000 and 4000 meters, and there several well-known ski resorts.

Italy

The italian border is a mere 40 minute drive from Nice. Nice was actually part of Italy, until 1860.
Popular destinations just across the border include Ventimiglia, San Remo, Bordighera and Cinque Terre.
